Why can't you just immerse the heat exchange in a tub of water and pump it that way?
You probably could. I think the main reason liquid to liquid heat exchangers like my plate style I used is to maximize surface area between the liquids. If it was just on the outside, it would be just a little less efficient. They make tube types out of titanium ones too that can be used with salt water.
