I dont know why people recommend raspberry pi for bitcoin nodes. much cheaper to do it with regular PC hardware.
Using a mini pc wasn’t that much more expensive than a pi and it’s way more efficient
exactly my point! 😉
Maybe for ultra low power like a stealth build or in a weatherproof box with solar power.
check out the stealth build for much less than a pi setup! https://m.primal.net/HtyQ.png
If a person has a pi without use thrown in a corner, I think it is a nice project to setup a full node. If one wants to build a more serious full node, should look for better hardware.
I would rather use the pi for home automation and use the old PC thats thrown in a corner to setup as a full node, nice project.
Used dell optiplex 8-16GB w/ 2T SSD
yes I always prefer used and existing hardware. I have the same specs for mine but on a Ryzen 5. Also on a ThinkPad T420 and Sony Vaio for friends and customers. However this looks nice for people looking to buy something new, compact and decent price for the specs instead of building a pi. https://m.primal.net/HtyQ.png https://www.aliexpress.us/item/1005005992586390.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.3.549f7f03Nj3b3v&algo_pvid=41803d28-2996-49a4-9d3e-30c179e44e14&algo_exp_id=41803d28-2996-49a4-9d3e-30c179e44e14-1&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21CAD%21334.60%21184.03%21%21%21239.00%21131.45%21%40210324f117128140020047113ee08a%2112000035213111074%21sea%21US%210%21AB&curPageLogUid=2Iseb5OBoBCU&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch%7Cquery_from%3A&gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt
