@d0154568 yeah, I’ve learned to just smile and say thank you. I realized that diminishing or downplaying  whatever they complimented me about was basically dismissing their opinion. Not my intention, ofc, but that’s how it feels to be on the receiving end of it, I’ve noticed.

I learned to stop trying to disagree with other people’s arbitrary, positive opinion just b/c it happens to be aimed at me. My opinion about myself doesn’t diminish theirs.
