Can I sell my npub?? How could you sell your private key without compromising it?
You would have to trust the seller not to compromise the acct
Currently no key rotation so you would not be able to convince other party you no longer have the key.
The supply of npubs is too large to have a price. If the npub is special like npubqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq.... then I would probably use it myself starting from scratch.

You can sell it to someone if you aggree they hit you in the head with a big hammer 🔨 after the transaction 😄

The selling of #NIP05 identifiers are way more easy to be sold. You just point to buyer's npub and that's it.
So the #NIP05 providers would act like social networks?
Could they block you from your NIP05 identifier?
Why social network providers? No. They only point your long npub to a human readable addresses. Of course they can remove you. It's their domain. Just like email providers can refuse to keep your email accessable. You can buy your own domain and set the nip05 for your own name you want, like I did for example. Bought a domain and that's it. But if we go further, yes even domains can be taken away from us unfortunately. There are not many things in our modern lives we truly own. But I know for sure, Bitcoin private key and Nostr private key are one of them
Do you know a non-kyc domain provider??
could make a vanity generator that would run, generate a desired npub, and hide the nsec until payment. open source and notated to verify no shenanigans
But the seller would always know the nsec, right?
not if you purposely hide that until payment is made. you could set a trigger bool to identify npubs that have been bought/nsecs revealed. so my thought would be that the seller runs the program to generate vanity npubs, once the program identifies the chosen string, instead of displaying the npub and nsec, it would provide an npub and a lightning invoice. once invoice is paid, the hidden nsec would become viewable to the individual who purchased direcly on screen and the bool would trigger to identify that the nsec has been viewed by someone

That would work for selling new npubs, but not for npubs with publications and followers.
