Have you watched @rabble's talk in which he says users are perfectly fine with copying and pasting private keys and that the thing they're most amazed by is the interoperability between apps?
yeah all this Alby and NOS2X is good in theory but doesn't work in practice
Why doesn't it work? I use them all the time.
communism also sometimes works
You didn’t answer me. And Yes, communism always works. ..for the select few
Alby works once you set it up, but when you get on a new machine it starts to go through an idiotic process where it keeps multiple accounts and confuses them all and sends you e-mails to reset password but it's for the wrong account blah blah blah because it thinks your account is for lightning or whatever BS and not NOSTR and so on ... takes a while to get it to find the right account for NOSTR to work ... NOS2X didn't work for me at all ...
Gotcha. I’ve never used alby. Use nos2x all the time on android and desktop.
We didn’t build something like a Bluesky PDS for hosting the keys for multiple apps. So we encourage nostr users to paste the nsec in to native apps. And use browser extensions. We do have nsecbunker but it’s not widely supported and we don’t have a good PDS like easy to use login system. It’s more for hackers.
Nobody wants to paste private keys lol
