The biggest thing we can do as you said is evangelize nostr and only engage on nostr except to spread the word. It’s only a matter of time before you’re censored on Corp media it just depends when your pet issues become hot topics and trend there
I love the evangelical energy but i think we need less selling and more listening, conversation, and welcoming. People don’t join a church or social movement because of its structure or details about the belief system.

For example it is unlikely for someone to choose to be a Unitarian vs attending United Church of Christ. The two churches are very similar, they come from the Christian tradition with service on Sunday and broadly lefty political views. You decide you want a community and that one or the other feels welcoming. Nobody decides just because UCC is Christian vs Unitarians dropping that label. You choose based on the people and for social reasons.

The same is true in digital spaces. We need to learn how to make nostr meet people’s needs. We need to do that by talking to potential users and learning about their needs and desires. Then we need to communicate that to our community of developers and designers.

What we’re doing is called co-design. It’s messy but that’s ok because it is human and humanity is messy and complicated. I co-taught a studio class on co-design at the MIT Media Lab a few years ago, so clearly I managed to convince somebody I know what I’m talking about.
