Nominating a candidate for the party in exchange for the release of one prisoner feels like a loosing proposition to me if that’s all libertarians would be getting. I don’t think an organization could do that. If we are in a negotiation you never take the first offer. More policy objectives please. As long as we are playing hypotheticals, how about a VP pick, the ending of a few executive orders, and the adoption of some core libertarian tenets in the Republican Party platform (Debt reduction, policy on Bitcoin, reduction of subsidies across all industries, etc) not claiming libertarians get them all, but selling the whole party for one thing, that effects one person, feels cheap. With as fractured as the libertarian party is it would likely end it. If the libertarian party is going to end as a result of a nomination, that nomination should come with some guarantees that shift the direction of one of the other parties platforms atleast. The LP is too purest for any of this to happen though. https://media.tenor.com/x7zee5KVdf4AAAAC/libertarian-libertarians.gif
