Legacy socials created a trap, a prison in people's minds. The same people who look to government to fix problems. They look to the owner/ their leader to solve them. When they come here, they complain, they don't know what to do and go back where they complain about it. It's not because it's difficult. They're used to being fed and therefore controlled. They are trapped whether by choice or they really are unaware of it. They don't understand the freedom and independence we have here. They are victims of manipulation and abuse.

New here so I really find your post interesting! FB and IG have always felt like a trap to me so a friend recommended Nostr. Giving this a whirl! Hoping it will help me build share my projects, connect with others and not leave me feeling hopeless and depressed! 😅

Here, you get to be in control. Nostr is new and growing and there's a bit of a learning curve so it requires a bit of patience. Getting yourself set up with a wallet, for example. Keep a free and open mind. More importantly, it's a helpful and supportive community. Look around, ask away, and I hope you enjoy your stay. Use #AskNostr if you have questions.
