Oddbean new post about login | logout It's Anglo-Norman, actually. 🤔 Most Jewish surnames, at least the ones we're all familiar with, are German....though, I think the German-Jewish surnames are Yiddish. That could go into differences throughout the diaspora, too. 😵💫

Curiously, there isn't a Wikipedia entry on him. There's other David Leavitts on the Wikiped, but not the guy we're talking about here. It's not hard to imagine that he might have Jewish ancestry. Despite that shit he pulled off in early 2020, he's still keeping afloat and maintaining relevance. Kind of hard to do that if you're not part of that one big happy family....though, being of a political persuasion seems to be equally as important. 🤔
