TikTok fails 'disinformation test' before EU vote, study shows ========== TikTok approved ads containing political disinformation ahead of European polls, raising questions about its ability to detect election falsehoods. Global Witness created 16 ads with false information about the EU elections and submitted them to TikTok, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter). TikTok approved all 16 ads, YouTube caught 14, and X filtered all the ads and suspended the group's fake accounts. TikTok acknowledged the ads violated its policies and attributed their approval to 'human error' by a moderator.
