I didnt give ID, real number, or real email to X.

No one has to. Not sure why this lie persists on Nostr when it's demonstrably false.
Maybe, but it could be the reality tomorrow and you'd have zero say in the matter.
And that's why I will always keep Nostr handy as a fall-back, worst case.

Of course im not going to KYC for social media.
Thank God there are Nostr devs that don't feel the same way. Their conviction makes your lack of conviction a tenable position.
Why not give ‘em this info if you want?

Is it necessary for companies to have ever needed this information from anyone?
You can! You just can’t give it to them and then claim to care about privacy. And supporting a platform which actively seeks that information from users as a privacy advocate seems laughable.
You’re being rate limited then. Those restrictions get worse over time, never better. Good on you for not giving in yet though! I made the assumption you were a blue check and I had no way to verify.

Still, many users DO give up personal information by design, especially big accounts. Why would you want to give energy to that system?
I am a blue check, doesnt require KYC and never has 🤷‍♂️

I'm not giving energy to that system, im ising it as a platform to help give people the resources they need when they wake up.

if we're all here on Nostr circlejerking theyll have no idea what theyre missing and what to do next to gain freedom.
Ok I’ll bite. I’m willing to admit when I’m wrong, if I am. I’ll download Twitter right now just to see what information it would take for me to get a blue check.

In terms of the “Nostr circlejerk” I agree that Nostr is a community of very like minded individuals. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to try and “wake up” others online, but I’ve never found any success.

It’s hard to know if you’re even talking to a real person, much less what their views are and how best to reach them.

I come to Nostr to share ideas and learn from an online community which I enjoy being a part of, not to educate the masses.

People in the real world who are connected with us physically are the types of people it’s more important to wake up, and that’s where I fight that battle.
No blue check without at least verifying a phone number. Not to mention that you have to pay somehow (probably debit or credit card) and you were asked for an email and date of birth upon sign up (these are easily spoofed but most won’t).

I would be shocked if you were using this platform without leaking absolutely all of your privacy, especially seeing as you claim to have a blue check. https://image.nostr.build/b42a3391fd789257485b004c8e1845f26dbcb3dc11672763e00122759244af03.jpg https://image.nostr.build/8726ec6a0ec56afd2535a3c414926898261d84e26222ecb307be309a6bc58a59.jpg https://image.nostr.build/ac0bf8fa9431ee9179a711298955e75389135e7d88ff2bb656d4291516d7ed2d.jpg

So let me get this straight

1. Fake email
2. Fake date of birth
3. Fake name
4. Debit card not connected to my identity which I filled up using Bitcoin
5. Phone number not connected to my identity which I bought (how? I don’t even know)

All to only leak my IP to Twitter (Israeli intelligence) instead of leaking it to my relays?

And I’m still not completely sold on the ID argument seeing as their graphic included ID verification, but I couldn’t get further without giving them my phone number
Aucun engagement entre pairs et nul ne connaît l'éthique de client.. '
Out of curiosity, what do you think your success metric is for helping “wake up” people over there?
