This report is also a test for Nostr. Nostr's goal is to resist censorship.

Just now we all went to X to report Katherine Long's post that violated fiatjaf privacy. If Katherine Long posted it on Nostr, the report cannot be deleted. If Nostr bans Katherine Long's post, is Nostr a success or a failure?

reported the bitch still no sats for me as I see it nostr has absolutely failed 😑
But you wouldn’t be able to ban her post on Nostr
What will #Nostr do in the future when it encounters this situation? Will we change #Nostr because of fiatjaf? From the perspective of fiatjaf and us, Katherine Long is a bastard who violates privacy. If we change our role to the government, and someone publishes the government's secrets, is it right for us to report Katherine Long on X? At least the people of Nostr are all supporters of resistance to censorship and free speech.
also what we do when a good guy dont receive his sats 😑😓
Kathrine Long did NOT violate anybody’s privacy. She dug around and found shit, and decided to post publicly what she found. Rude, yes. But also… bound to happen.

“Banning” her on Xiter has nothing to do with Nostr. If she was on Nostr, I would expect thousands of Nostriches would personally “mute” or “block” or “report” or otherwise push her account out from their (own) webs of trust. Reporting on Xiter is simply the way that was done today (cause the OP is not accessible on our network).

All in all, I do think the hype around this is a bit misguided in Nostr, but also… no biggie either.
What kind of question is this?

If nostr can blanket ban anyone, it's a failure
Absolutely But are we right to report Katherine Long on X? At least the people at Nostr are all fans of censorship resistance and free speech.
X says doxxing is against the rules on their platform. These reports let them know their selective enforcement is obvious and the more reports there are, the more people they'll estimate are angry at X for that selective enforcement

And whether X removes the post or not, Katherine Long will look foolish for attacking a dev from her corporate bubble until she comes to a decentralized place like nostr where instead of selective enforcement by Elon, we have selective enforcement by each user for their own experience
There is no need BAN even bullshit n nostr
note or npub will ignored n muted. that's enough

in nostr will be same like OPEN PUBLIC REPORT
I didn't expect this incident to be so dramatic. People who are anti-censorship need to censor the bastards by reporting them for selling other people's privacy. In the future, #Nostr will encounter many similar problems. Let us examine nostr and ourselves morally. How should nostr solve this problem?
It's impossible for "nostr" to ban or censor anyone. We can't stop Business Insider from running a nostr relay and post there. Anyone interested in Business Insider can subscribe to their relay and get their content and anyone else can mute them to stop seeing their content. Your question is based on a non-real scenario which makes it impossible to answer it imo.
 Actually, yes
There is no "Nostr banning" of anything. Relays and users can do what they want, including censoring.
Investigative journalism should be celebrated, not punished. I find it interesting, but it doesn't negate from what @fiatjaf built and what the other devs are building. If it bothers people and keeps them away from Nostr for a while, that's on them, not the system. It's certainly not on us.

Doesn't matter to me. I may disagree with him on 90% of issues, but I like what he built and I hope it destroys all challengers and defeats the corporate networks over the next 5-10 years.
I don't care about the sats but what are we reporting so it's accumulates the same type of report. I want to keep this open but the twitter "pick me" energy can get rekt.
i have to admit I paid 1 dollar to read that.....poorly written, the carpet didn't match the drapes
 you're missing the entire point

x.com is just elon musk's relay
