Turned out he was hiding in the couch cushions the whole time!! Didn’t say a word when we called him over and over looking in the house.

Can imagine. I'm almost certain the terror you felt was the same as when I lost my mother in a crowded shopping store when 5. Hope you tell him how important it is to not scare or worry others!
We used to prank our parents so badly. I feel bad about some of them even now. Learning the way of the prankster already.
