I can't remember the last time I ran out of notes. It was definitely very early on in my use of Nostr.

I will agree that the content variety here is limited to pretty much Bitcoin and Nost (with art, music, etc sprinkled in). But we are early and people could post different content here if they wanted. I'm guessing most of us on here have interests outside of Bitcoin and Nostr.

I'm considering putting more time into #cigar content, for example. Hopefully there are some cigar people here already, but at least there will be content for them if they do come aboard. I think that's really the solution here. People have to invest in Nostr now even if it won't immediately pay off. This includes posting various types of content and curating a follow list that pays off at some point.

On a side note, it can actually be a benefit to have the ability to run out of notes. Nostr can be what YOU want it to be, which is the main selling point in my opinion. I may eventually decide to follow very few people and happily run out of notes.

I could have different npubs that best align with what my goal for Nostr is in a given moment. Maybe I want to get some quick notes from my news sources, etc. Maybe I don't want to be incentivized to keep scrolling. Conversely, maybe I have another npub that is better designed for burning time scrolling and interacting with more people.

The possibilities are endless here. You kind of are your own algorithm by design. You have to build what you want rather than accept whatever some centralized service feeds you. It's a shift in thinking that has to happen for Nostr to be compelling, at least as things are today.
