European Institutions do not respect Private Property and they hate Bitcoin because they know they can't take it from you. So they will probably try to tax it for just owning it. In the case they introduce unrealized capital gains, I am curious what will happen when the markets go down (a bear market for example). Europe is not the place to be if you believe in the future.
Absolutely, we can theorize all day about potential outcomes. Let's not be apathetic about things, we need to fight for property rights, question is who will be our fighters... Any idea?
I agree with you. We need to do something about it. A lot of people in the Western World do not respect property rights, therefore they are not willing to fight for it. In fact, so many people are against private property, even if don't say it directly. In my opinion, our society is facing moral values. Everyone is becoming so individualistic and because most people own pretty much anything they simply don't worry about property rights and in fact a lot of people are against them (because of jealousy and other inmoral reasons). So the ones who defend property we are perceived as "strange or bad people" which in fact I think it is quite the opposite. So it is a hard battle, also bearing in mind that media & big corps are playing a crucial role on supporting the demolition of property rights. There must be an agenda behind it, otherwise doesn't make any sense. So fighting against this, is quite complicated. The only thing you can do as an individual is owning a property that no one can take it from you (which is bitcoin) and showing others the benefits of this protocol. When most people realize they can really own something (everyone can buy some sats), their opinion about property rights will change radically (again, because of individualism). So let's embrace Bitcoin and explain why we need unconfiscable money/property.
