UK: <<Prime Minister to create ‘smokefree generation’ by ending cigarette sales to those born on or after 1 January 2009>> "Proposed new legislation will make it an offence for anyone born on or after 1 January 2009 to be sold tobacco products – effectively raising the smoking age by a year each year until it applies to the whole population. This has the potential to phase out smoking in young people almost completely as early as 2040." @d0e09e5d They sorta wanna do the same thing in New Zealand. It has been so successful so far, I only know two people who smoke. Vaping has replaced most smoking, because smokes cost about USD20 or 25 per pack. Vaping is super cheap by comparison. But now there are too many vape shops, so they want to decrease that. They are going to restrict the nicotine solution ratio. It is also possible to leave your desk, in an office job, to take a five minute non-smoking break in some jobs.
@d0e09e5d The problem with rewriting history is that those doing the rewriting lose track of reality. Much like how something like this was tried in the USA with alcohol. If you make it illegal, some people are going to do it for fun. Others are going to make a living based on it.
