You know what's a sign of a party really "uncomfortable" with an incumbent?

Someone from the party ACTUALLY RUNNING against the incumbent. (Cf McCarthy/RFK 1968, EMK 1980, Buchanan 1992.)

To give him credit, at least RFK Jr has taken that step.
