 Yes, but with privacy minded developers, better solutions can be made. Not even protocol changes are necessary, devs can create wallets that support BIP-47, for example, or we could have more development with LN privacy, which is pretty robust as is.

Some shitcoins are more private than bitcoin, but they are a dead end. A more effective use of resources and time would be to work on the winning protocol.
