And why are our presidential campaigns so long. 

There are two people. Everyone knows who they are. Just put up a website with a link about what you want to do. Done.

 I'm not sure what is more corrupt, them scamming voters by asking for donations or them buying votes from voters. I suppose I'd prefer a bribe.

 Why give them peanuts while lobbyists will throw millions at them to ensure that their interests will be protected? Donating the money you've successfully separated from the state to those wanting to run the state is utterly stupid.
