North America has more fresh water than we could ever use. We also have the technology to pipeline this water all over the continent if we wanted to. Stop telling me I need to conserve water! https://image.nostr.build/a1b502257c03df940030ff22bb08d9c6c2dd1d147e13e4ce809248f3afc081da.gif
Been trying to tell people this for decades. I’m sure a pipeline would solve a problem though, and we all know no one in charge is interested in that.
Southern California is a desert. There are more people living there than the environment can support. But we could easily solve this problem with a pipeline. I'm so sick of all this water conservation nonsense just because there's not enough water in a place where I don't even live. I live in the inland Northwest. We have plenty of fresh water. I shouldn't be stuck using low flow shower heads and toilets just because there's not enough fresh water in California.
Piping water from the Great Lakes to California isn’t as easy as this, it isn’t oil
It’s very doable if left to competent people.
Hoping this was a joke and I just missed it.
Definitely was said in jest
That would definitely disrupt some ecosystems though
23 million people living in SoCal is already disrupting an ecosystem
True, but should continue to disrupt it further?
Yes. We should.
Time for the human race to pack it up and head home. Our 20,000 year run of disturbing ecosystems has come to an end.
I detest people who are anti-civilization
Same here. There is obviously a balance to taking care of the land and nature, but to just say we need to live like cavemen the rest of our life is insane. “Natural ecosystems” change all the time without human influence anyways.
