Southern California is a desert. There are more people living there than the environment can support. But we could easily solve this problem with a pipeline. I'm so sick of all this water conservation nonsense just because there's not enough water in a place where I don't even live. I live in the inland Northwest. We have plenty of fresh water. I shouldn't be stuck using low flow shower heads and toilets just because there's not enough fresh water in California.  

 I couldn’t agree more. It’s absurd we can’t pipe fresh water into the Colorado River system and let it flow from there. 

 It’s not about “not enough water,” it’s about forcing you into doing things you wouldn’t normally do. 

 Piping water from the Great Lakes to California isn’t as easy as this, it isn’t oil 

 It’s very doable if left to competent people. 

 I didn’t say it wasn’t doable, I don’t know where you got that impression. What I specifically said was transporting water 2000 miles is fairly difficult 

 Hoping this was a joke and I just missed it.

 True, but should continue to disrupt it further? 

 Yes. We should.  

 Time for the human race to pack it up and head home. Our 20,000 year run of disturbing ecosystems has come to an end.

 Same here. There is obviously a balance to taking care of the land and nature, but to just say we need to live like cavemen the rest of our life is insane. “Natural ecosystems” change all the time without human influence anyways. 

 Right. Not suggesting we live like caveman, but to consider all perspectives to weigh the pros and cons.
