 My (tiny) 401K provider seems to have misplaced $50k I instructed then to send to Fidelity and Fidelity has no clue what I'm talking about.

 Contact your original 401k provider. I bet they weren’t able to transfer the 50k in kind, so they need your authorization to liquidate the assets. Then they can transfer the 50k in cash over to Fidelity

 Don’t trust Fidelity… we had a nightmare with them last year with the SBNY puts scandal then twas also a bitch to remove my IRA funds from their hands

 Similar thing happened to me, took 6 weeks longer than the max time stated for a rollover, about 8 emails, 6 calls and one in person visit. These people don’t have your money.
