Some podcasts value art, feedback, and contributions as much as a monetary donation. You might value different things and that's okay. It comes down to what you value and your relationship with your audience. Some podcasts have kickass art that they wouldn't have if they had only asked for monetary donations.
And getting outside of podcasting, because #v4v is bigger than that… Someone puts their song online. A digital good. What are you going to do to give that artist Value? Go outside and milk your goat and pour that artist a glass of milk? They’re in a different city, you gonna mail them a glass of milk?
That comes down to the ask to your audience. You can ask your audience to contribute milk back as value, but I doubt many people will do it. Similarly you can ask them to only contribute BTC, but only very few people have BTC and many are hodling it during the ATH. I think it's better to ask them to contribute BTC, fiat, and whatever else you find valuable for your music or podcast. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what to ask your audience to contribute back in value.
