I don’t think that’s her position. It’s more like putting others first doesn’t actually advance society. It just creates a culture of beggars. Which is what we see today. People waiting for handouts and asking for free shit. If everyone was more selfish, they’d understand that no one is going to help them and you must help yourself. The greatest technological advancements that improved the human condition were made by self interested individuals. People that are trying to get wealthy.

 A different way to look at is to consider what it would take for a collective “we” to fix the problems we face today. Since everyone will never agree on the same solution to a problem, we’re left with majority rule. When the individual sacrifices himself for the collective, we end up with statism, democracy, etc.
