I have a few friends with ADD that find it extremely challenging to maintain focus for extended periods of time, making it difficult for them to read even a single chapter. So I will oftentimes highlight key passages or concepts that I want them to grasp before gifting them any book.

To anyone who has a friend with ADD and some extra time to spare, this approach can be an invaluable strategy.

That’s so kind and thoughtful 🤓

 Thoughtful friend!
 🫂💜
I can’t read a single paragraph without being distracted 😅 I should be reading now
😂 well find you a friend to highlight books for you 🤗
 Haha 😅
 I do this too. 😁
That’s be you are a good one 🫶
 🫂💜🥰💕
that's so cute.. they are so lucky to have you as friend 🫂💜
 🥹😍🫶🫂
That’s thoughtful. For me, I’m so thankful for audiobooks.
 🥰🫂
I love audio books for traveling, but I always end up falling asleep on my flights 😅
You know, I think it’s OK to listen to music or anything as you fall asleep because somewhere our brain still hear it, right?
 Yeah probably true.
But actually reading it feels so good. I want to really feel it and be inspired with the new information or ideas.
 Felt 🥰🫂✨

Sleep learning is fascinating. It seems that the information is stored in a part of the brain that is nearly inaccessible while you’re awake.

 😂
OK since you wanna be a smart ass, it is, it’s quite easily to brainwash somebody by getting them to listen to things repeatedly during their sleep. Hence why music has been one of the prime ways to do so for years. 🤣🤣🤣
I wasn’t trying to be a smartass 😂. I’m serious. I wish it were easy to take advantage of this life hack.
I mean, we put all the subliminal messages into the music and the beats create a YouTube page drop in the subliminal messages and slowly brainwashes society I mean, it’s that easy, right 🤣🤣🤣
Yes, it’s a great way to fall asleep on a long flight. Books have the same effect on me, but I feel wide awake as soon as I close the book 😂. I love audiobooks for driving and walking.
😂 Yes, some kind of wake up zap does happen the exact second a book gets closed closed. I’ve experienced it 1st hand. 😂😂😂

Yeah driving is the best for me with Audio.
 Audiobooks 🫂✨️🦾 1.5X 💜
 You mean they are lazy?
 I would say, busy.
Also it makes the gift even nicer. Taking the time to highlight the best parts adds a more personal touch to the gift and I know my friends genuinely love seeing my highlights.
Ask you friends to also try using only incadecent bulbs and nothing else in combination I.e. no LED and no flourcent and see if they notice a difference.
Oh, I will suggest this 🫶
It depends on the subject matter for me and how dense, but audiobooks ftw at 2x
Some of my friends can’t even focus on an audio book 🫣 but I’ll ask if they tried 2x
enviromental prep can become borderline obsessive compulsive for us as far as needing a routine and a space to sit down and focus, but creating situations that remove distractions is equally functional. I listen to audiobooks on walks or long drives on desolate roads. About the only time I can sit down and read books is at airports.
Incorporating routines and creating distraction-free spaces can indeed be beneficial. ✅
Thank you, this is a wonderful idea

every fcking time I read some book again I'm wondering why something is highligted. Seems like there is no connection between mysleves in time 😂
 😂😂😂🫶 been there 😂
Surprisingly, omitting unfamiliar words can lead to feelings of fatigue, boredom, and even frustration!

I strongly suggest investing time in resolving misunderstandings by looking up the definitions of any unfamiliar words and exploring their origins. This happens to be an excellent way to expand your vocabulary as well.
I like the way your brain works. Thats really kind.
🥹 The best kind of compliment 😍
Thank you 🫂
What’s the difference between highlighted and underline?

There seems to be a method to this technique
Well here I wanted the main point to be that ‘money is a ledger’ so that was for sure highlighted.

Then I wanted him to see :
- Commodity money
- Bank money
- Open-source money
Are all ledgers, so I underlined them to make sure he still saw them. However, the main thing I wanted to stick out was the word LEDGER, so I put it in bold highlight.

Also I’m not a reading coach and don’t know much about ADD, but I feel like when you can break it up and force the eyes to look or re adjust I’m assuming it’s probably helpful.

At its core, money is a LEDGER.
- Commodity money serves as LEDGER govcrned by nature.
- Bank money serves as a LEDGER governed by nation states.
- Open source money serves as a LEDGER governed by users.
Just don’t use a Ledger, hardware wallet, when he starts stacking. 🤭
 😅 I’ll make a side note 😂
Those with ADD, ADHD, Autism, asperger etc are childhood vaccine damaged and should minimize processed food and start max detoxification (from heavy metals) going as far as replacing dental amalgams with ceramics and avoiding all lab chemicals on their body like deodorant. They need a complete life style change.

I won't mention any books.

 🙏
Been doing this with the Bitcoin standard and broken money. Much easier to go back and study certain passages.
 Oh that’s amazing 🤩
I do find that books have a different message for each person. I’ve re-read books years later and found whole sections I could have sworn weren’t in the book the first time I read it. What resonates with me is sometimes just noise to someone else. Do you highlight the sections you enjoyed or the sections you think the other person will enjoy?
My friends often tell me that they prefer my explanations over reading a book. Since I can’t be with all my friends at all times, lol, I try to highlight key parts that I would likely mention if we were having a one-on-one conversation.

I focus on highlighting passages that convey key bits of information, such as specific concepts, definitions, dates, patterns, or quotations that I feel they should remember. By marking passages that are particularly meaningful or insightful, my friends can focus their attention on critical ideas and themes, making it easier to grasp the author’s message or argument, allowing us to have deeper conversations later down the line.

When I was young, my mom would highlight vocabulary words in my school books to help me understand and comprehend complex, challenging, or simply new material. When she highlighted key parts, it encouraged active reading, prompting me to engage with the text actively rather than passively consuming information. I tried this technique a few years back with one friend, and she said the highlighted parts helped her so much that it became her favorite book. It made me so happy to hear that from then on, whenever I have time on a flight or by the pool, I highlight passages in books I plan on gifting to friends (for their birthday, Hanukkah, Christmas, or some occasion).

In books like this (technical or bitcoin-related), I try to avoid focusing on highlighting bits that have a personal connection to me (like a special date that also coincides with my birthday or something) because there is no point in them reading a book highlighted with my emotions as they can have this side of me when we go for tea.
Nice. Seems to be great story passed down from your mom, through you and to your friends. 👍👍
 🥰🫂
Nice gesture. I just read this section of her book yesterday. Can't wait to go deeper
