Good decisions you made in your live. Venezuela has a special place in my heart, as I visited Isla Margarita in the late 90’s and early 2000’s (for windsurfing). 
Question: did you consolidate your utxo’s? Did you switch to lightning in order to avoid tx fees? 

 I havent visited Margarita yet but is really beautiful!!

And yes i use lightning network i use the alby wallet and it is fine so far
