@𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗶 I'd argue it's healthy and preferred for express your emotions rather than just bottling them up. Within a stressful situation yes its good to compartmentalize and be able to act when needed, but sometimes you need to vent and be able to express your emotions. I'd argue the reason excessive drinking, drug abuse, and actual abuse are all results of someone not being able to healthily express their emotions out to another person.
To go "never open up to other people" is bad and possibly dangerous advice, because if you're in a state of crisis and no one knows, then no one can try and help you
