@lagomorph asked: “Following through your tutorials and hitting the same problem I had as a child with yo-yos; my string is becoming twisted so much when I throw the yo-yo it spins sideways like a hamburger and I can’t retrieve it.

What’s the fix for this?”

The video tutorial covers string tension when it comes to yo-yo’s and how to adjust it.

This twisting up is caused by excessive tension in the string. Take the string off your hand, let it hang below the yo-yo, and let it untwist itself until it doesn’t spin in either direction. At that point it will have neutral tension and will no longer exert torque on the yo-yo, causing it to tilt. Every time you catch and throw the yo-yo you add one half twist to the string. So after a few throws you’ve naturally added enough twist to the string that it’s built up torque will affect the yo-yo.

I ran the video through a converter and reuploaded it

I can see it fine on noStrudel. It's likely due to an incompatible video encoding with the apps; if its' an old video was it still an .mp4 or .mov?
I would try re-exporting it as an MKV file and seeing if that makes a difference. I don't know what operating system you use but both Windows Movie Maker and iMovie should be able to quickly remux it.
On second consideration if you're using nostr.build it should do all that compatability magic for you - so it's a mystery. I might be dead wrong on my gut assumption.
I have a weird pleasure watching people do something (anything) very good. Even though I have zero interest about the subject myself the act or the expertise itself intrigues me. Anyhow now I know how to adjust tension of the yo-yo maybe it will come handy with my son or my nephew&niece :)
