I realized that the mistake back then was in the way I introduced myself, for some reason I thought that NOSTR is similar to reddit so I used the “Hi 25f here“, that was a bit dumb tbh😅 but hey we live and we learn!
 Bwahahahaha!!

So that's why...

Honestly, if you hadn't been introduced by Finrod, I would have been really suspicious for a few minutes, too.

Besides, I know that women welding engineers exist, but... You're exceptionally rare. But also... No scammer in their right mind would ever think of trying to use that as a profile. 🤣😁😆
 Hahaha yes!
Oh I wish I was lying about my profession🤣
Don’t get me wrong, I have all the respect for welders out there but a girl needs her feminine job where she can wear cute outfits not 3 layers of protective jackets and heavy helmets🥹
There aren't enough women (yet?) in the field to push cuteness into the consideration of design is safety gear, though, in the US there have been some attempts made.

It's just that how much can you really do for semi-disposable safety gear that has vital functions to perform? Just dying something pink doesn't make for good fashion.
I believe the geographical location plays a big role in this, in Europe for example more PPE sizes are available for women which provides a bigger comfort for them while working in addition to them not minding the layers due to the cold weather, but as for the GCC, I struggled to find safety shoes for women… and the weather makes you hate wearing the layers, some men were okay with layers and the heat but I suppose women can be a bit more sensitive biologically to this.
So yeah it’s not about the design patterns or color of the safety gear, it’s more about the weather.
 Yup
Yup.

I agree.

When I was in the middle east and welding, I gave up layers to help shed heat. I have the scars to prove it. One layer of cotton overalls was about all I could stand to wear while welding.

If you ever get over to the US, there are several good brands of boot makers that are starting to cater to women. They aren't cheap, but... Loosing toes or being in pain or having swampfoot is worse. 😁
I bought a caterpillar safety shoes which ended up being super uncomfortable, then switched to reebook, then stopped wearing them altogether and just put on gaiters lol
I don't blame you for not wanting to wear uncomfortable footwear.

If you ever get the chance, go to a Redwing store and have them fit you. (That presumes you ever visit a major metro area in the US.)
Ahh redwing were super heavy for my feet, the EHS officer at the company gave them to me first, but to be fair they were 2 sizes bigger than my foot size, and they weren’t for women.
They were too big that a weld spark slid over them and burned by sock lol
But I wore Reebok when I was forced to go on sites.
Really? Mine are the lightest steel-toed boots I've ever worn. Granted, I bought these for that reason, and there are many much heavier types in their catalog.

I'm very curious as to the type you wore.

I have those scars, too. 😅
I had the cutest, raised-heel steel-toed boots, while working in logistics.
 Hahah lucky you!
I got “cute” CAT safety shoes which ended up being extremely uncomfortable and barely wore them😅
