Can you use some kind of wax or sealer and use it to harden and then sand it somehow? Idk much about leather. I do stained concrete. I like the distressed look though for leather so would distressing it on purpose to play it off be a thing?

Not really. The thing is I want to keep the finish on top. But I'd prefer it intact. Maybe I don't get what you mean but it dosen't seem to make sense (for me not saying you're stupid).

It's definitely a style and I think many people would like it that way and even maybe prefer it that way.

But it's not quite what *I* would like to offer as a product.

Yeah I was thinking waxing the edge would give it a harder surface to sand. Or even a solvent based clear coat. Harden the edge then sand for a cleaner edge.
