One of the many things I love about having a podcast: far more stream-of-consciousness friendly than written pieces.
When you screw up grammar or badly structure a paragraph, let alone fail to convey your thoughts into written word in a way that resonates with your audience, it can be a sloppy/bad look. When you misspeak or have to correct yourself live on a pod, it's being human.
I'm 20 episodes into my podcast and still haven't removed any "mistakes" for this reason. In the first couple episodes, the lifelong perfectionist inside of me was definitely scratching my back to go through and trim out every single "uh", "um", awkward pauses, etc. But ultimately, since that would be such a huge time-suck (and would also rob me & the listener of watching me hopefully improve as an interviewer over time), I threw that idea out the window.
This has been a huge weight lifted off my shoulders, and part of why my blog has taken a back seat to my podcast lately. Much less pressure and editing burden, more opportunity for free flow and accepting the mistakes as part of the experience.
This isn't to say writing is inferior to speaking, of course. Just something worth exploring if you find yourself hitting the dreaded writer's block often, and are open-minded to testing out new mediums to maximize your creative output 💭
