I want to take a moment to thank all the millions of little critters that died, got fossilized, got pressurized into oil, so that I can drive around in my truck.

I wonder if vegans drive.
Thank you, bugs, trees, shrubs, and other mammals and marine creatures. We appreciate you.
For what it’s worth, % of non-plant life contribution to oil and gas deposits is probably extremely small. Most oil rich deposits are derived from algaes
Damn! I need to find a less ethical source of fuel. Do they make an engine that runs on virgins?
You can run a diesel engine on virgins. And lard.
I suppose you'd have to pre-process them first. *nudge* *nudge* *wink* *wink*
 😂
Geothermal? Since folks used to throw ‘em into volcanos?
 With the whip
 It’s mostly plants, tbh.
Thats what I tell them about the sausages :p
I'm sure you heard the fossil origin of oil and coal is a myth
Yes but I just heard Sabine Hoffsteader use the term "fossil fuel" and I thought exactly that... that is the wrong term because that theory has been overturned. But I thought I would say something funny as a play on the old idea.
Sabine is a funny old woman
I've had an elaborate series of lectures by my old boss, still not convinced.

Cometary material burns easily in air if small, and creates magma and plasma plumes then burns if large.

Could totally work on lower-gravity worlds tho.

Or is this a different abiotic theory?
I'm going on the Russian oligarch theory of "we don't know how it works, just that it does"
I just recently learned about the beef industry/biodeisel connection & have been marveling for days over the corn/soy psyop that's been sold. It's brilliant 😅
I don't think fuel comes from fossils, some great videos discussing how oil is far deeper than the lowest depths fossils have been found at. Because of the molecular composition of oil it was branded as being from organic sources and assumed to be from plants/animals. I think its more likely something the earth just produces
Yes I think you are right.
 Uhm, it's mineral though
Now that's just going too far
