I'm waiting on my luggage from yesterday as well. We checked 2 bags and they lost both. It took them a little shy of a day to find it. We had a direct flight and arrived 2 hours before our flight. I used to enjoy flying, but hate it now.
That sucks — at least I’m at home, way worse when you’re traveling and have nothing to wear.
That’s annoying. In London a few years ago, we went on a five day trip, got the luggage Day 4. Was wearing the same clothes the entire Christmas holiday.
We spent more than an hour on chat (after ~30 minutes on the phone where they would repeatedly hang up on us because it was more than 24 hours since the flight landed). We kept asking the lady "Do you know where our bags are, or not?" In more than an hour she never answered the question. She'd reply, "You have to understand, I am a baggage specialist. I don't look for the bags. I can only tell you the status." Yeah, then please tell us the status. After an hour and 10 minutes, she ended the conversation with, "We have 24=48 hours to tell you where your bags are, so you need to wait 48 hours." It would have been preferable for her to tell us that an hour ago, so we wouldn't have been late for my Dad's birthday dinner. The good news is we finally got our bags after 30 hours of them refusing to give us a straight answer about anything. I wish I could never fly again, but with family on the opposite side of the country, I kind of have to occassionally.
That's horrible. I just got mine 10 minutes ago. I fly a ton because I live overseas, but I dread it too. Actually wrote something about it a long time ago about it, but since then it’s only gotten worse. https://medium.com/@chris_liss/how-to-fix-air-travel-76965c3c1e82
