After 30+ yrs as a War-Tax-Resistor existing solely in the cash economy I have experienced the liberation of attention freed up by not tracking, labelling, and reporting every cent earned and spent. What I didn't know couldn't be used against me, if I couldn't even track my cash flows the Nanny-State authorities couldn't either. I've read that compliance costs add 20% to the cost of doing business. That actually seems low. There are many incalculable costs to the artificial obstructions and shrinkage to capital flows. Even the obsolete idea of 'business hours' restricts the velocity of value flow between businesses. Just as the Gregorian method of accounting was adopted by businesses from the bottom up, despite top down desires to keep them using Roman Numerals for balancing their ledgers. The more efficient method of accounting for value exchanges will win out, eventually.
