Is anybody here successfully running Bitcoin Core v28 on a machine with 8GB of RAM or less? Trying to figure out if this issue is just me: have a machine that gets stuck while opening the chainstate DB due to running out of memory.
 Have you tried restarting?
Currently running it on a proxmox container with only 4gb allocated to it.
Yes I have it on a 4gb VM, no issues
I have not experienced that issue on 4GB
Works fine just make sure dbcache= is set to right amount (accessible also via GUI). Default should be fine (conservative value) but if you played around with it then it could cause issues.
4GB would be enough. Especially if you have a swap part.
Just download some more RAM that should help. 😁
Maybe is it about Virtual Memory, which can be configured in your BIOS
