 It's still unclear to me to what degree Snowden is still or not active for the CIA. Limited hangouts are a thing. And they always need people within the opposition the people trust. 

Remember they always play both sides. 80/20

Freedom means getting over any affiliation with a group. Everything is meant to be in flux. Don't attach your ego to anything if your goal is freedom. Entertain a thought without making it part of your identity.
