I don't want to sound like a boomer but games used to be adventures, now they're just pay to win. https://i.nostrimg.com/e6644610472c336bc1ab4ef8a68882fade13dae6da0cc30ad78510f7dbc69eb0/file.jpg
The First Prince of Persia have cheat codes using only the shift and ctrl buttons and some quotes. What a time to be alive!
Prince of Persia 🤌

Game studios figured out how to monetize. Now they sell pre-alpha games that barely work and then never finish them.
Yeah, this microtransaction model has really ruined the gaming industry for us. I mean, it's too profitable for them, and even after paying all that money, you still don't own anything. Not even a copy of the game.
Guess I’m older then that back in my day we had a GameShark or game genie to access cheats
That’s culture of inclusiveness for you, ser. Competition is inherently non inclusive 🐶🐾🫡
To be fair, I remember as a kid dialing 900 numbers to get tips on Sierra games. Stuff like the King’s Quest series. Damn, now I sound like a boomer! 😂
Agreed. Add then the cost-benefit calculation involved. As GPU hardware gets outdated every few years, it is expensive to keep replacing decent GPU's with new GPU's, simply because of a few titles that require them. The resulting pushback will be gradual, but people have more important priorities than to play complex, overhyped games that inevitably involve microtransactions and require the time of a second job when it comes to multiplayer titles. The pushback then, is back to basics and also back to the outdoors, similar to how we lived in the 1980'ies and 1990'ies, with some extra dimensions of technology available at an ad-hoc use.
Me haven't played for a decade... I remember playing games even without an internet connection... couple years ago I bought a Xbox, started it, saw what's happening these days, sold it back again...immediately. This shit has it's own whole agenda... of course as part of the big one. 🥁
Ooof....was playing mw2 and just turned off my PS5 in the middle of the match. I can not bring myself to enjoying a game that someones gun turns you into a beam of light with pot leaves floating around you. I get mw or cod have never been that "realistic" but #p2w is rampant. Rather annoying when you just wanna enjoy a few matches but have to play against people who spent a whole paycheck on a fake outfit and fake gun....in a video game 😆😆 /r nostr:nevent1qqsghvvmuelcvk5ryqvdxds87l2hdmew93aevq44ryqct9ezqjjm97cpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqzyrr0wpmlz6va2r8e92t990ltl7kqtlrgg2u7uwgs38v4nw9dt4y06qcyqqqqqqga4v3qu
Sadly, this mentality is transferring over to Bitcoin integrated games that shape their business model around their players paying sats to give themselves advantage over other players.
