Hey UK Nostriches, a friend of mine is looking for a good place to start buying Bitcoin. She's a complete beginner and not super tech savvy, so please don't suggest P2P self-custody quite yet (we'll get there).

Looks like many of my go to's aren't supporting the UK any more.

Where should she go?
Here is a full list of vouched places

If all else fails, she can come here and get zapped
How about an exchange such as Bitstamp?
Relai and other swiss exchanges are probably the best bet as theres no kyc for purchases < 1k per day.

https://relai.app/
@Relai 🇨🇭 doesn't support the UK right now.
 Grumble. They used to. Shame.
kraken and then you go do a lightning withdrawal to mutiny wallet or Zeus wallet which will be nice and simple on her phone, can also do on chain withdrawal but more fees.
+1 for Kraken, seems pretty popular in the UK. Mutiny or Phoenix for withdrawing in Lightning works well
oh yeh I forgot about phoenix, they're probably the easiest option tbh and mutiny will be a close second
Get her to use a VPN and probably Relai. Everyone should be using a VPN for nearly everything.
 💯
This doesn’t work for Relai. It comes down to where your banking is registered, not your IP.
 Kraken pro should work
 Robosats > Peach > CoinCorner

So from your description, CoinCorner.
Why not an exchange like Binance?
+1 for Kraken. Always been good to me. + has Lightning..
I buy from Coincorner - then use lightning to withdraw to my self custody wallet with zero fees 🫂 💜 They are #bitcoin only
 @CoinCornerMolly  @CoinCorner are on #nostr but don't use it
CoinCorner? There’s no KYC-free option I’m aware of other than Bisq etc.
 Coincorner
I think Kraken is the easiest for a newbie atm
 Bittr, Relai and Coincorner
 Coincorner +1
