with cinnamon, i can actually have my desktop theme exactly as i want it

who in the fuck ever thought that the ugly poo brown colour of gnome dark theme or their pied fucking window theme bullshit ripped straight from macos was gonna be ok with linux desktop users

this here, "adapta" or aka "material oceanic" (the intellij IDE Goland top left calls it that)... this is the most pleasant theme IMO... not too colourful, neutral, dark... doesn't hurt my eyes and everything is at peace on my computer

gnome project is completely on the wrong path, thank God cinnamon forked gtk3 and let humans continue to have adequate GUIs on linux 

 A couple months ago I installed Cinnamon Linux. 

So today my  HP elitebook stopped working. it's as if it's out of battery and it doesn't even know what wall electricity is.


 

 I've never had a computer just become a complete unresponsive brick.

Usually the screen flickers or there's a hum or a click when it's plugged in. 

 it probably is the power circuit by the sound of it

if you can remove the battery, sometimes these things just right themselves after being completely disconnected from power, the controller circuit may have had a brain fart, i've had that happen with devices

 cinnamon is not a distro it's a desktop, same as there is no such thing as gnome linux, although there is a debian or ubuntu based gnome, or used to be, i don't think it exists anymore though

I think I had the orange theme selected.  

 lol, i'm just not using gnome any more... maybe they will make things better with 5 but 4 is a dumpster fire
