The quality of a student's #education from pre-K to higher ed shouldn't be dependent on or determined by their family's wealth.
@b5cdaf1a quality education … who wants to be a teacher to deal with all the stress with little pay ? Many schools don’t even require a credential anymore. Shortage of teachers and funding. The best teachers don’t get paid any more than the worst. And yes, it’s very tough to solve the demographic problem. The upper middle class can move to areas with “good” schools. The upper class go to private schools. Everyone looking out for themselves, rather than the common good.
@b5cdaf1a to some extent, it has to be, otherwise you'd introduce deadweight loss (since part of the incentive to make wealth is to spend it on your children).
