 i'm kind of tempted to say, knowing a little more about the basics of Hinduism, that Buddhism is basically Simplified Hinduism. 
 @c721880c You'll have to look more into Buddhism, because it head on collides with core Hindu doctrines. The Buddha rejected multiple notions the Hindus of his time held sacred including God's revelation scriptures (the Vedas), doctrine of an everlasting and non-changing self (Ātman), means of knowledge (Pramāṇa). Some Vaishnavists will say the Buddha was an avatar of Vishnu, but Buddhist scriptures have a hard disagree on it.
