I do want to have compassion and mercy. I receive them every day.

I also think about how Nazi collaborators were treated after the regime fell, and it makes me wonder how the developers building the surveillance apparatus should be treated. 

 The surveillance apparatus can work both ways and can be used to gather intelligence on the corrupt fuckers. Then again the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
