The perfect formula leading to the Dan event were existing precursors (a-la @Gigi and actually lots of Dans IRL), and the right present elements (a-la @Karnage, @jack and others changing their handles, combined with meme reposts taking off), and a general good vibe that week, seems to have been the cause IMO.
