 There is no education that can somehow turn a peasant into a viable contributor to modern society. Only genetic evolution can do that.

 I would like to believe it's the hunger to succeed. But I do not have any evidence to claim that genetics has no part in it.

 There are countries, where education is free and usually they so quite well. Believing that being a präsent is based on your genetics is an antiquated and dangerous view IMO
