After witnessing several orange-pilling sessions in Curaçao last week, am thinking that cashu.me with a solid mint like minibits is one of the lowest friction ways to quickly get some sats into a noob's hands.
The UX is pretty slick. I tried writing a book to help people get onboarded to the lightning network about a year ago, but I kept getting stuck at lightning wallets. They weren't noob friendly, didn't have lightning addresses or left thr US app stores. This looks promising, but I don't want to get my hopes up.
Until their sats get rugged by the third party. Had my zaps setup through the mint. Tried to redeem a token and it's "already been spent." History can prove it hasn't been on my end. Using self custodial setup now.
Yeah, this would be just for starting out, like when you want to tip a cab driver who doesn't own any bitcoin.
