All trade offs. The company would have cratered and be owned by a hedge fund. We came very close to that reality. My role was to preserve it as long as possible. Even though I did not agree with the methods. Which is why I ultimately left. And should have left much sooner.
Tbh, it’s pretty cool that a company can tell a president to stfu. Should ban all politicians from Twitter. The internet has no president.
Facing problems that you can not solve but still preserve it as long as possible, for what? Making it worse? Clearly, you made it! Happy? What a joke!
I think you forget that the “problems” you talk about, which must be the left actually trying to defend people’s rights by force because some incels can’t actually do it of their own accord, are very trivial compared to the real problems faced by those who have always been oppressed. people working on these kind of platforms, if they want it to be for everyone, need to account for all the issues that all people face eg women and harassment, people if different religions, gender identities, sexualities etc. Its just not fair to say YOUR idea of “problems” is perhaps proportional to someone else’s when very real harm could be caused by the cultural conditioning that comes as a result of allowing hateful things.
I’m not saying it’s right to have leftist authoritarianism all the damn time eg do not agree with vaccine mandates and taking control of peoples bodies… but all this anti wile anti empathic bull crap is closed minded to the extreme
Definitely appreciate that. I also appreciate that it's easy to armchair quarteback. I also appreciate the personal integrity you have demonstrated since leaving Twitter in all your nostr/bitcoin work.
No. You were exactly where you were supposed to be. You saved Twitter. FUN FACT: Elon became majority shareholder at Twitter to earn a seat on the board and make much needed changes to Twitter. Elon was shut down entirely by the board at every attempt to suggest changes which led to him buying Twitter outright. And that would not have been possible without @jack!!☀️🌬️✨💋🦁🫂💖
I think unless advertisers embrace a form of socialism, it's too easy to demand privileges and directions from the company. Re hodlbod, question for you, how would it have changed the election outcome? Wasn’t election before that and Jan 6 a reaction to it ? I remember watching the lockdown and riots at capital hill live - i think the whole world was - and we were joking about how the US would have screamed bloody murder if this happened to any other country.
Twitter (and Facebook) blocked an article critical of Hunter Biden weeks before the election. Turns out that was highly germane to Biden's fitness for office. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2020/oct/14/facebook-twitter-new-york-post-hunter-biden
This is what caused Trump the election. Period. The American public was on the brink of death and starvation while Republicans callously blocked every effort to get immediate relief to people. They couldn’t vote Biden in fast enough!! The Republicans botch handling of COVID lost Trump that election not freaking Twitter!!💖 https://youtu.be/M31_3SHwL_M?si=9bHzRZH0Bd53v8Aq https://image.nostr.build/2d17c801453dfc4d427dd450cfb8e776548f3f225f3ff1cbbd10d59081b140bc.jpg
Voters. Voters. Voters. I don’t know maybe it’s best for Republicans to just sit this one out if their only election strategy entails disclosing the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop to these 10000+ carloads of starving families who were lined up at the Texas *food bank* on that day, many of whom were turned away and left empty handed, not to mention the millions of Americans across the US who faced the same predicament.🇺🇸💻💖 https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/12/us/coronavirus-long-lines-america.html https://image.nostr.build/375868195d71fadc0c1b373884ae4964b180d50d9e0101e7166db6038d57f680.jpg https://image.nostr.build/0d94f92ea028dca9359f3e92e0febb2c45a2bd5b58b7c7e0f54494c32b6ea2c7.jpg
