 I'll be surprised if even 1% of the people who said they were going to ditch unity actually do

it's just too much work to leave the plantation, even for a new project

 @d for a new project is feasible, but for an existing one? not happening. But Unity backpedalled so there's less incentive as well. Hugely complex issue.

 People shouldn't ditch Unity because of the fee structure. They should ditch Unity because it's slow and janky and that splash screen screams "shovelware" and/or "asset flip" to most gamers. 
 honestly I'd appreciate if all the asset flippers could keep to their containment engine. If not unity then something else. 
 Its often impossibility. And big companies often have separate deals, so they would not be affected by the new 4% tax on profits. 
 @d Especially when they can just stick with their current version of the engine to avoid any of the issues they're complaining about
