Rural lands here (even lakes and gravel pits) are being re-zoned as "extreme fire risk" in my state. We don't have mining where the fires are, but the squeeze is on. The good news is that people are voicing opposition instead of silently accepting it.
6 years ago people died burned on the highway, running from the fire...2 fronts, different directions. This is insane. Already people lost everything. You can't have 6 fires starting at 10am in the morning in different regions ( = states....). My country is not a big country, 2 sizes Holland.
