Hitler was a very charasmatic leader, in touch with the troubles of the country. Compared to Kamala or even Trump, Hitler would be viewed very positively in America. If Germany had won the war, most would probably view Hitler positively to this day. 

Most of human perception of icons and historical figures is not determined by primary knowledge, but through second hand communication of ideas.
