nostr fixes this - @wavlake showing the world what is possible 🫡

https://www.billboard.com/pro/spotify-changing-how-pays-artists-stream-thresholds/
Ah, they want it to be like Youtube. Good thing I found out how to remove their ads without paying
I wrote about exactly this in the most recent print issue of Bitcoin Magazine
 🙏⚡️
Artists getting rekt on Spotify. Just like central banks they can just change the rules and rates over night.

Thank god for @wavlake and nee business models.
Man I’ve got a friend who has men making music for well over 2 decades & I can’t get him to try it out.
He was doing livestreams of live synth shows.
Idk why I can’t get him to at least try out nostr considering he’s been banned by both x & yt multiple times.
 cool shit.
The spotify killer will require piracy in some way or another. Wavlake is cool but not enough
 Damn right! 🔥💜🧡

Musicians should fight and oppose instead of homologating to no avail. With them, a good portion of their fans would also move and these platforms could finally begin to weaken.... Value 4 value is the only way!

 Spotify advertising for @wavlake now?
Read this for 15 seconds and had to stop.

This is so broken they have to confuse the living shit out of artists now.

@adamcurry
 Wavelake needs more artists
 Adding more every day!
 A empezar a usar @wavlake entonces ✨✨✨
 spotify sucks
I just don't quite know how to feel about the royalty-free movement. I know the music industry has traditionally fucked over artists, but the function of earning royalties is not a bad function, especially for songwriters, the ones who have probably been fucked the hardest.

Are songwriters not supposed to be able to make any kind of generative living from the songs they write? Many songwriters aren't performers after all. They don't have merch or ticket sales to earn with.
Artists are earning more on v4v today than through traditional royalty streams. Adoption will only make this better.
Fans spend money on music and ultimately want to support, but most of the revenue is gone by the time it gets to the creator. It's true, they may not make a living from passive listeners on an open model, but existing super fans, along with new fans through organic discovery, will show up and change the game. They just need a familiar place to go, and that's what we're working on ✌️⚡️🎵
