If I was ever visited by a future version of myself, and allowed to get the answer to one question only, in earnest, I would ask:  "are you sure?"

Other questions I'd consider asking myself seem trivial or selfish.  This one cuts deep.

 I’ve done this thought experiment before. I wouldn’t choose to go back nor forward. But I’ve seen visions etc all my life. Maybe that’s why.
